Nibbles in Now Free

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for delay but even I learned it quite late.

The small innocent 'Nibble" has finally made his way to the free world from the poised world of humans who treated him like an object of show off.

With great happiness I declare this blog closed as the very purpose of this blog is achieved.

I pray nibbles a happy, healthy and long nature life.

Finally I want to thank each one of you for coming forward for a noble cause like this and raising the voice against the very enemies of "Mother Nature".

Thank You

just an honest opinion..

Ok, first of all, I think it should be made clear as to what the purpose of this blog is. I don't think a coupla guys discussing this issue here is gonna create any difference. You'd rather go and talk to the caretaker him/her self directly, face to face. and whom are you targeting here? who is the target audience? it seems that most of the posts are hitting Chawda rite on his face.. smack down.. n he's been all defending and shit.. this could be the whole purpose of the blog too, because, a few of the well wishers listed here (I'm sure) don't even give a f*ck about Nibbles. Mocking Chawda is something which will ultimately be just a sidetrack here. the main person affected, in the end of it all, will be the people who actually care about Nibbles and love his company (no names here). n this, I'm sure, is not the motive of this blog.

I may not be making much sense here to many of you (I'm sure, yet again) but then, don't include throw pun at innocent people totally uninvolved in the whole matter. because if u think they're involved, then you should first confront them directly before getting into a kinda "morcha", a rally.
and if you're not, then there's no point in creating such a hype out of this and making it such a big deal, an issue worth discussing, online, in open, for everyone. because, the point is, not at all, served in any bloody way.

alright, so if the intentions behind this blog and any of the comments posted, are not seriously to set Nibbles free, then you don't need to read any further down. and please do not take anything serious in whatever I've mentioned till now. and please continue happily and let me know, so I can also join hands actively to take the poor guy's case. but still, yet again, I'll like to mention that let's just do it within our open group. anyway, Ciao my good friends..

but for those who are serious, please continue reading at your own risk.. all sarcasm and pun is totally intentional and intended at whoever finds him/her self eligible enough for it. there are a few points worth mentioning here:

please don't include innocent people unnecessarily in this matter because ultimately they are the ones who have taken the responsibility of taking care of Nibbles, and will end up suffering.

please first talk to the caretakers and others who have taken the responsibility, face to face, IN PERSON, NOT OPENLY.

secondly please don't make this an open discussing to people who are not even aware of the existence of the poor animal and the people involved directly. people who do not give a f*ck about it should be gutsy enough to accept it and not poke their noses unnecessarily, just to create a fuss. they should be responsible enough to keep at bay.

those who actually care about Nibbles and hold an opinion that it should be let free, I really appreciate. but there are more serious issues out there for you to be wasting your time on this one. Nibbles is being kept with utmost love, care and affection. the person who has taken the responsibility to take care of Nibbles is doing the job extremely effectively. Nibbles is in safe hands and as i see it, will always be. he/she is not going to leave Nibbles here and go. I'm sure (at least I hope so). it's not like Nibbles will be left on his own suddenly, out of the blue, in the jungles. it will be the case, if you guys force him/her to set Nibbles free now. it's anyways late for that. Nibbles, even if let free, will still definitely come back to his 'home' because he's already become fond of it.

Nibbles was found on the streets when somebody found him and cared enough to pick it up and bring home. so now THAT somebody has all the rights to keep Nibbles with him/her and take care of him.

I would suggest you to take more important matters here for animal care and do something towards it. go out, see the cows being tied to a pole throughout the day and night. look at the horses, oxes, buffaloes being made to drag carriages and carts, etc. save them from all the cruelty they suffer because of their owners. you don't even need to go far. just go outta NID G gates and look right in front of you at the cows being exploited for human use. that's like a master-slave relationship there, whereas, Nibbles is like a family member.

what about the meat sellers who have been slaughtering animals all these years? I mean, what the f*ck guys, what the f*ck are you trying to do here? this issue is not worth creating a scene about when there are so many other pending animal rights cases.

So to cut it short, find better causes to fight for.. Let Nibbles and his caretakers live happily and in peace. Let at least few people on the campus be happy about the presence of Nibbles on the otherwise anyway dead NID G campus. and I would, without any doubts, prefer Nibbles sipping from a cup in the mess rather than Rupa and sons doing the same.

thank you all, for all your patience and courage.
adios,
warm regards,

- just a bloody common man :)

ps: please ignore the typos and a non fancy, to the point lingo. please don't get hurt. nothing is meant to be taken at a personal level.

truly, it cannot be one man's contribution...

I don't feel I can ever make my point clear, with no one to support me. This probably means that the mass opinion is to free Nibbles. If all of you guys honestly care for this animal, and are confident enough that Nibbles will survive out there all on his own, than I am in no position to confront you all.
I will back out completely and act neutral, provided you guys can assure, not to me, but to yourselves, that Nibbles will safely survive on his own.
I will continue to stay neutral, until people who support me, force me to make any further comments.
Thanks.

Its not one man's contribution

Dear Vivek,

I admire your last post but completely disagree with-

"if you are so much concerned about miseries and pain inflicted on human race, please go forward and help those who really need your help"

I think each and every individual is contributing for well being of humanity. You don't have to go out on streets and start doing social work (that might be one way). But there are numerous other ways by with you contribute to society(which includes nature and animal).

Have you ever wondered the money the organizations like PFA and PETA (the one you are member of) or the forest department spend on comes from. Ya it comes from people like us. All I have to be is a responsible citizen of the country rest all system will take care of. So stop shouting of pushing people on road, they are doing there part which gives them enough right to raise there voice for the freedom of NIBBLES.

So the whole point is stop boosting, its time for some action, set him free..........

Akhilesh....

People can take care of themselves. Animals cannot. People can express their feelings openly. Animals cannot. The total world population is 6.7 billion, and it is growing. My friend Akhilesh has mentioned a very true fact "...never give a penny to their fellow being neither to a street child nor to a mother coming with her baby".

Yes, I am an animal lover at heart, and I do not mind expressing my compassion towards animals. Akhilesh, if you are so much concerned about miseries and pain inflicted on human race, please go forward and help those who really need your help. Don't you find yourself being irrational by "showing off" your love towards humanity attitude, and on the other hand showing your disgust towards animals? Please do not show your hatred towards animals, show your love towards humanity.

Recent post are forcing me to repeat what I said earlier. If you have never, ever done anything to help a poor, helpless animal, or you are like Akhilesh, who "do not love animals", it is senseless waste of your precious time posting your opinion on animal rights, animal cruelty, torture, etc.

If you are a true humanitarian, please go forward and help the ever-suffering human race... please do not waste your time posting articles on animal cruelty. Human miseries should be far more graver concern to you.

The cup used for feeding Nibbles is a chipped & cracked cup with broken handle, if you also happen to be using the same cup, then please do accept my sincere apologies. :)

AM NOT AN ANIMAL LOVER....and I DONT LIKE ANIMALS THOSE WHO ONLY LOVE ANIMALS

Received from Akhilesh S.V
akhisv@gmail.com

beggers...no slaves...no animals ...dont have any choice...because the BIG ANIMALS are ruling over them...every time.

VIVEK...its really funny the words you said.
"this cozy pouch is way much better than a twig nest or a hole that he would be living in" quote from vivek.....designer(so called).

I often see the the things done by the animal lovers...they never give a penny to their fellow being niether to a street child nor to a mother coming with her baby. They have lot of things to advice them....

freedom is not just the right of humanbeings and DESIGNERS (sorry).

i remember an incident happen in NID PALDI .Few designers were taking care of a little cat inside their room. They never set this cat to go out.One day the kiteen ran out and the entire A hostel was threatened by the search of the ANIMALS.Evening they found the little cat found dead near the compund wall(may be suicide or an accident while jumbing out of the designers den).Evening there was a funeral ceremony near BBC.

thank god they never made a monument in memory of the little cat.

"I am a member of PETA since last four years. I have also volunteered
for PFA & SPCA. What I am trying to stress here is that I have a MUCH better knowledge about animal rights, animal cruelty and animal protection."

quote from vivek..
you should never say this.Being a MAN OF ANIMAL LOVER you should volunteer against this cruelty.

again from the quote of vivek i feel some mismatch

"I have a MUCH better knowledge about animal rights, animal cruelty and animal protection.""

how can you say the bottom words

"cozy pouch is way much better than a twig nest or a hole that he would be living in. "
use words atleast tying with the arguments you said in the beginning of your writing

ONE MORE THING

PLEASE DONT USE THE CUPS IN THE MESS FOR FEEDING THE SQUIRREL...YOU CAN USE YOUR PERSONAL CUPS OR FEEDING BOTTLE

BECAUSE IAM NOT AN ANIMAL LOVER....and I DONT LIKE ANIMALS THOSE WHO ONLY LOVE ANIMALS

Akhilesh.S.V

Get your facts straight....

The only purpose why I mentioned about my PETA membership is to assure you that I have fairly good knowledge about animal rights. That means I know much better what can be classified as animal torture.

Time and again you have been stating the word "torture". I ask you again, is it the pouch he is living in that's disturbing you? Because if it is so, then I'd pleased to build a bigger home for him.

If I had joined PETA for "show off", I would not have risked my life saving & relocating poisonous snakes, wild dogs, etc. I don't know if you can remember about "Golu" and two other puppies we had in our campus last semester. They were so sick, that they could not walk or eat. Even their mother abandoned them at a point. How many people came forward during that period to exhibit their "animal lover" nature? We had to beg to get at least 5 people, so that we could take him to local veterinarian.
And do you remember about that calf tied to the trees in the forest near UT-square?? It was raining really heavily then... many people saw it crying and shivering out of cold... finally who crawled under the barbed wire fence and relocated that poor creature to give it shelter?
There are many such incidents, which you might not probably recall. I am not at all interested in boasting or "showing off" my animal lover attitude, so please do not force me to state them.

And it's seem quite amusing to me reading about "animal cruelty" and issues alike, from people who chase and throw stuff at dogs in our campus. Please don't get me started on animal cruelty because if you are even a slight bit observant you would notice the number of "real" cruelty acts happening in our campus itself.

If you have gone through the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act(as you claim), you would have read Chapter III Section 11(h)(i)(j). These clauses clearly state that being an owner, abandoning an animal, knowing that it might cause the animal to starve or suffer pain is a legally punishable offense.
I have been a member since a long time now, I know the law quite well. Just reading a PDF on net for the sake of creating a post, mentioning about various acts won't do. PETA has their own bench of top lawyers who keep the members continually briefed on these acts. PLEASE do not create commotion for the sake of your own sadistic enjoyment. If you are really concerned, come ahead and first show us your so called "animal lover" attitude.

Finally, if anyone of you are really concerned about animals, instead of just sitting and posting comments on this blog, go ahead and try to rescue or help wild animals in and around the campus, that will hopefully make you a bit more aware about these issues. Then you are at total liberty of- "everyone has full right to raise their voices against it". It is really shameful to read comments from people who have never done anything for animals ever in their life, and just for the sake of creating a commotion are raising issues about animal rights. And for God's sake do not say that you are trying to help Nibbles... better accept the fact that you are totally ignorant about how this animal will live in nature, if set free.
Leave it to people who know how to handle these type of situation in a responsible manner, rather than giving senseless solution of "setting NIBBLES free."

"animal care turned out to be a cruel torture"

Dear Vivek

Keeping a freely roaming, active, innocent speechless animal to a small pouch. Not allowing him to return to his mother - the nature, playing with him like a toy or a video game what will you call it animal love or self love.

To what you call animal love appears to me animal torture.

Can jail ever be a home?

My dear Vivek if being a member of PETA gives you right to deal with animals in any way you feel like then I think every animal torturer would love to be a member of PETA :). But the fact is you can’t and if you do so everyone has full right to raise their voices against it. Your statement to me sounds more like – as if I am the policeman so I can murder anyone because I know rules better. Wakeup my friend, “aaj ke janta jagruk hai” they wont accept such kiddish statements of your to cover the harsh reality behind the curtains.

I appreciate your efforts in bringing NIBBLES from street (believing that he was orphan and not separated by you from his family). But I think you joined PETA more of as a show of and not out of interest because if you would have gone through the animal right act of India and PETA rules and regulations then they clearly say that if you find any orphan animal on street then contact immediately to the forest department. Being member in no way give you any permission to keep the animal with you. As a sincere member of PETA and animal lover such initiative should come from your side to liberate and working on lines to rehabilitate him. Sorry to say but all what you said in you post sounds more like a big giant hollow politician’s speech and certainly not from an animal lover.

I would advice you to go through the rules book of PETA, The Animal Welfare Board of India and specially Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ Act of 1960 and Wildlife (Protection) Act of 1972 under which you and your crime partner can be sentenced to imprisonment for 3 months or Rs 500 fine or both.

I request you to stop giving lame excuses to keep NIBBLES for you own personal benefit (I don’t know what they are). Please work on the lines of making him independent and not dependent on you food and shelter that is the best you can do to make him feel happy. Don’t do it for me or anyone else but do it for you feelings and care towards animal. Do you think any animal can enjoy anything at the cost of his freedom…………………….

Nibbles IS in his home.

I am a member of PETA since last four years. I have also volunteered
for PFA & SPCA. What I am trying to stress here is that I have a MUCH better knowledge about animal rights, animal cruelty and animal protection.

Nibbles was found as an orphan roaming carelessly in streets. The same streets where vehicles zoom by or hungry street dogs prowling about. People should thank the person who really "rescued" this little baby squirrel.

Harry: Could you please elaborate on the statement that you made in the previous post of "animal care turned out to be a cruel torture"... What really makes you feel that Nibbles is being "tortured"?? Is it the pouch you are talking about, because everyone would agree to the fact
that this cozy pouch is way much better than a twig nest or a hole that he would be living in.

I really doubt your knowledge about animal behavior, because squirrels are very much territorial, and any chance of an orphan squirrel being adopted by other squirrels, is highly unlikely.

I still cannot get your point... do you personally think that Nibbles would have survived on his own, if not rescued? or are you pissed at the way he is being treated?

You have been repeatedly stressing the fact that "Nibbles should be set free". Do you even have any vague idea, if "set free" how he would react in such a hostile environment? Where will he find his food, his shelter??

In my personal opinion, these issues of "animal cruelty" should be raised only by people who are really concerned about animals. People who go out there in the wild, risking their lives to save a helpless soul, know a lot better about animals than a person sitting in the comfort of their home watching Nation Geographic or Animal Planet, and trying to portray that they can sympathize with animals.

If you are thinking that by starting a blog, you will create some commotion and because of that Nibbles will be let free... he will jump out and live happily ever after.. then I am very sorry my friend to disappoint you, but that only happens in Fairy Tales. :)

please dont use animal for your benefit

Yesterday in mess i head a voice "Nibble kaha hai" ...nibble new name for me in NID-G then some one told me that Nibble is that small squirrel .So now kind people has given him a name but dude animal don't want your high fandu name and 3in X3in portable home with 1 inch opening for air ,they want blue sky ,green tress and fresh air.
People have their lunch and dinner with that squirrel. People carry nibble with him when they come for meal not because they care for him but to gain popularity . Please let him go to his world .....
Life not only need good food and shelter it needs FREEDOM ....please give him freedom he will find better food and shelter for himself then what you are providing him.
What a fun people say please don't disturb Nibble is sleeping and thode der mai usse pouch ko heelate hue chal daate hai ....that time they forget that NIBBLE is sleeping bcoz woh time style marne ka hota hai....who care about animal because "self love is first love".

Bottom line is please don't use animal for your benefits please.......its good to think of new media interface but animal shameful

SAVE NIBBLES !!!

The story starts with the arrival of a small squirrel to our campus. We were told that the small squirrel was left by his family to die. They brought him and named ‘NIBBLES’ ya the four bit. Like others I was also in crowd to appreciate them for there animal love. But as the days passed things changed, what prima-fascia appeared as an act out of animal care turned out to be a cruel torcher. Since the day the small squirrel came he was given a small pouch to live in, thankx to the generosity of the pouch owner. People started carrying him in small pouch in and around campus as if he is like an iPhone or Rolex which they want to show off saying ‘hey I am an animal lover look I saved the squirrel’ but I see it as they are saying – ‘Hey did u see this, its my new style carrying a live squirrel, do you have one’. The small squirrel is kept either in as small pouch of 3in x 3in or a shoe box and also exchanged among people like a trophy. And that’s not all it appears that the so called HEROS have found a new way to impress and become famous among others. They are using him as a tool to gain popularity. The small NIBBLES have now turned to BYTE. Its time for people to realize that he is a living creature and not a style statement like an iPHONE or Merc. Please set him free to his mother- ‘the nature’. If not now then never as the small NIBBLES will not be able to develop the essential skills he should know to survive in this wild world. Please set him free, he deserves that………

Raise your voice to set NIBBLES free.
